For over a decade, Jayne has been an academic regalia designer and creator.

She headed a small team manufacturing gowns and hoods for the majority of UK universities, and now works with her own team creating bespoke regalia.

Jayne created robes for both the members and fellows at the Royal College of Physicians and also innovated the use of a fixed hood.

She has also had the pleasure of creating a new graduate gown for the University of Central Lancaster’s students and honorary fellows.

Other designs have included ushers’ robes for many universities as well as the choir and mace bearer robes at UCLAN.

She has also designed and made a new high officer’s robe with a unique wraparound sleeve shape.

Jayne loves to discover other countries approaches to gowning and has already created gowns from the following countries;

  • China
  • Japan
  • Hong Kong
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • USA
  • Canada
  • Germany

  • France
  • Spain
  • Hungary
  • Romania
  • Italy
  • Greece
  • South Africa
  • The Netherlands
  • India

She welcomes new commissions, whether for new robe designs or a robe from the university of your choice.

Jayne loves a challenge!

Her skills as a highly established pattern maker and designer enable her to make a gown or hood from a photograph.
